I've Got the Jetlag Blues
and I don't think I've got anything interesting left to say. Wow, that happened fast.
It's been back to the grind (such as it is....) this week. You know, fall asleep at 7:30, wake up at 1am, wake up at 4am, give up and surf the Internets before going to work and falling asleep at your desk by 10am. Lather, rinse, repeat.
The weather has been gorgeous--everything burst into color while we were gone. There are cherry blossoms and shoots on the larger trees, the grass is green, and the peach tree is starting to leaf. All sorts of interesting things seem to be happening in the herb garden. I'm going out there this weekend to try to kill some lemon balm--why did I think planting TWO of them in the herb garden was a good idea? I'm not even sure I want one of the bloody things at this stage.
In other good news, my Rockies are 8-7 and second in the NL West (woohooo!). They're playing decent ball. I'm torn between dreaming of the playoffs and knowing it won't last. We baseball fans are a strange breed; deep down inside we really are optimists. We want to believe. You know, it could happen to us.... This could be our year. And my other boys, the Red Sox, are 11-4 and leading their division. Take that Johnny Damon. (::spit::)
Anyway, go enjoy spring and someone bring me another cup of coffee, yeah?
