Look For the Organic Label
Ideal Bite is another great resource for people trying to green their plates and the rest of their lives. They send a daily email tip, with links to some cool resources.
One of my recent favorites was about how to tell if your produce is organic, conventional, or genetically-modified (and we'll talk about frankenfoods soon, I'm sure) by simply looking at the sticker. Until now, those were just stupid little things you had to try to peel off when you got home. Actually, they've got some important info on them.
Supermarket Numbers Game
The upshot is this:
(from Ideal Bite)
A four-digit number means it's conventionally grown.
A five-digit number beginning with 9 means it's organic.
A five-digit number beginning with 8 means it's GM.
Easy peasy!

That's so neat!
Incidentally, this is my favorite new blog that is really two years old
I wonder if there is an award for that sort of thing, I mean, so you could nominate me. :D
The label thing makes so much sense, but of course no one ever tells you what it means! It's changed how I shop the produce department.
