Mission Accomplished!
We're done. Well, done unless you consider that we've not hung any pictures and we still have kitchen painting to do, cabinets to refinish, and a floor to replace.... But this weekend's projects are done. Whew.
Nigel is a rockstar. He installed two kitchen counters, a sink, and disposal by himself. I just painted. The most frustrating part of the weekend for me involved dumping a can of Kilz on the (plastic-covered) floor and then sitting in it several hours later. I had to carry around a plastic bag in order to sit down yesterday. (For the record, I couldn't pull up the plastic when the accident happened because the plastic was protecting a large area of carpet. Feh.)
Here are some of the "after" pictures.

Celia was the first to christen the new counter.

No more Grape Ape. At least not in the bedroom...

The hallway leading to the bedroom is orange sponge painting on the top and Grape Ape on the bottom. Nice. Let us know when you want to come over with your paint brushes.
