Battle Toast!

Welcome to Kitchen Stadium.

Finally last night, Iron Chef America held a challenge I can get behind--Battle Goat Cheese. The food looked and sounded magnificent, unlike so many of the other challenges. Who in the world thinks Battle Eel, Battle Octopus, or Battle Porcini Mushroom are good ideas? Feh.

So, we actually sat down to watch the show because it wasn't thoroughly disgusting, and this prompted a conversation. Why don't they ever do good battles such as Battle French Fry, Battle Chocolate, or even Battle Tomato? In typical fashion, the conversation devolved, as Nigel suggested Battle Baked Bean and then, ultimately, Battle Toast.

Because every self-respecting Englishman or woman loves toast, here is the menu Nigel would create for Battle Toast:

First Course: Toast strips with butter
Second Course: Toast with peanut butter
Third Course: Toast with baked beans
Fourth Course: Toast with tinned spaghetti (substitute chips--French fries--if spaghetti isn't in the pantry)
Fifth Course: Toast with Nutella

I think he could take any of the Iron Chefs. Don't you?

The Iron Chefs would surely be stunned. They wouldn't know where to begin.

*Someone* thinks Americans over-use cinnamon. Go figure.

Sarpon, how funny would that be? They'd really be puzzled if this guy in sweats showed up with his toaster and toast rack.

Battle Goat Cheese was way over due. Bobby Flay does Battle Toast every time he's on. That man can incorporate toast into anything.
