These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

from our trip to St. Louis over the weekend.

First, we've got the set of 90210 dolls and other ephemera at Blueberry Hill, a famous St. Louis bar and restaurant. Awesome food and all sorts of cool kitsch. In addition to the 90210 dolls, they have a set of KISS dolls and every Simpsons toy imaginable. It was funny how old some of those looked.



Then we went to the LP and CD store (that's how they describe themselves, kids! Yep, LPs!) where my cousin works and found these gems.


It was hard to pick just one, but I've been looking for that Meadowlark Lemon album for years.... This store, Euclid Records, has the biggest selection of vinyl I've seen in a long time. Particularly if you're looking for jazz, this is the place to check. Unreal.

And, we even did a drive-by of the Gateway Arch.


That's as close as we got.

All-in-all it was a great weekend, peppered with some weird moments. We were there for my paternal aunt & uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. Friends and family came in from not just around the country, but Israel, too. We got to meet three Israeli cousins that none of us had met before.

The best part of all for me was connecting again with my St. Louis cousins. As we've all gotten older and busier, we seem to have lost touch. I'm hoping now, that will change. Funny, we wrote a lot when we all first got the Internets but now that the novelty has worn off, our correspondence has tapered, too.

I'm still thinking about my "How not to throw a party" post, which may appear at a later date. Yeah, the anniversary party falls under the "weird moments" category. Still, it was great to see everyone and I'd always prefer we get together for the happy times, more than the sad. This was definitely a happy time.
